Happy New Year!

Wishing a happy, healthy and creatively fulfilling 2016 to everyone! Last year I had the privilege of working on so many diverse projects - a ballet, movies in India, China, L.A., Scandinavia and Macedonia... Looking forward to another year filled with music, laughter and collaboration with so many talented professionals!

Mannerheim opera announced

The Mannerheim opera has been announced, and will premiere at the Ilmajoki Music Festival in June 2017 - celebrating a hundred years of Finland as an independent republic. I will be composing the music to Eve Hietamies' and Laila Hirvisaari's libretto, with Tuomas Parkkinen directing and Waltteri Torikka as Mannerheim. Looking forward to composing my second opera, it's been a while as 'Paavo The Great' had its premiere over 15 years ago!  It told the story of legendary Finnish long distance runner Paavo…

Walking Dead: No Man's Land game music

Just finished work on the Walking Dead: No Man's Land game by Next Games -based on AMC's hit television show and to be released this fall on iOS & Android platforms!

Also - had an absolute blast at the Ghent Film Festival and the 15th edition of the World Soundtrack awards, spending the evening after the enjoyable concert celebrating his lifetime achievement award with dear friend Patrick Doyle, as well as Alan Silvestri and other composer friends and colleagues!

'The Little Mermaid' ballet premiere

I composed my second ballet for choreographer Kenneth Greve and the Finnish National Ballet & Opera this summer, and the premiere was on Friday! Completed work on 'Lazar'

Recently completed the music for Svetozar Ristovski's film 'Lazar' - the movie tells about a very relevant subject in today's world, human trafficking. The film will have its festival premiere in the Warsaw Internation Film Festival's competition!

'Jaanisaar' premiere in India

I have been fortunate to work on two Indian feature films this year: 'Nanak Shah Fakir' tells the story of Guru Nanak's life and teachings; 'Jaanisaar' is a period movie about an Indian prince who grew up in the UK returning to India and gaining a deeper understanding of his country under the British rule's 'divide and destroy' strategies. Janitor is out next weekend and Nanak Shah Fakir will premiere within the next couple of months.

Recording for 'The Liberation of Skopje'

Completed some orchestra recordings for Macedonian/Croatian feature 'The Liberation of Skopje'. Such a pleasure to work with father & son team Rade and Danilo Serbedzija for this film adaptation on the long-running play by Dusan Jovanovic. No word yet on release dates but probably in 2016...

Recording for Muzaffar Ali's 'Jaanisaar'

Have been working on Muzaffar Ali's beutiful movie 'Jaanisaar' in India. A very inspiring story about India's fight for freedom and the British 'divide and conquer' tactics that helped divide a nation. This is the backdrop to a love story and some epic action too - especially happy to score music again to my DoP friend Gianni Giannelli's gorgeous lensing. Our last collaboration was 'The Italian Key'.

Recordings at Yash Raj Studios have been a blast with many of my favorite Indian classical players coming…
